VALLEJO (KRON) — The owner of a pit bull accused of attacking a little girl says she plans to euthanize the animal.
Witnesses say the dog named “Blue” attacked the child Thursday afternoon at a home on Louisiana Street in Vallejo. The little girl was taken to the hospital where she was treated for bite marks and then released, police say.
KRON 4′s Haaziq Madyun reports the child’s father says he sprang into action to protect his little girl from the dog.
Neighbors reportedly told police the owner of the dog tried to leave the scene but had to be detained until police arrive. However, the dog owner disputes that telling Haaziq she called 911 and stayed until authorities arrived.
The owner tells Haaziq she plans to have the animal destroyed. For now “Blue” remains in the custody of Solano County Animal Control officials.
