NOVATO (KRON) — It appears someone is setting fires in a Novato neighborhood and police are anxious to stop it.

Ten suspicious fires broke out from Thursday night into early Friday morning, a day after two other blazes were reported.

All are within a mile and a half radius of a home on Trinity Drive where a resident was sent to the hospital with smoke inhalation from one of the fire.

Seven of the twelve fires were in vegetation areas, usually outside the backyards of homes. Most were easily extinguished.

Still police are worried that fighting all these incidents could stretch the resources of firefighters for when they’re really needed. They’re asking the public to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity.

These latest blazes come about two years after someone set dozens of suspicious fires also in the Novato area.
