SANTA ROSA (KRON)0 — A ten-year old boy is getting specialized treatment for facial injuries while his little brother is also in the hospital after police say their mom got high and drove into a signal light pole.
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon at Santa Rosa Avenue at First Street near Santa Rosa City Hall.
Police say 29-year old Christina Curtis had meth and meth paraphernalia in the car when the accident happened. She also reportedly is on probation for drugs and her license is suspended.
Authorities say neither child in the car was wearing a seat belt or in a car seat. Both kids suffered serious injuries.
Police say their mom was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and then booked into jail. She’s charged with felony DUI, child endangerment, drug possession, and probation violations.
The ten-year old was taken to a Bay Area hospital for specialized treatment for his facial injuries. His eight-year old brother remains hospitalized in Santa Rosa.
