(KRON) – A United Airlines flight from London to San Francisco had to turn around and return to Heathrow Airport following a mechanical problem Tuesday, a spokeswoman from United Airlines says.
Jennifer Dohm says that United flight UA900, a Boeing 747-400 aircraft with 374 customers and a crew of 19 on board on it’s way to San Francisco, landed safely in London at 12:52 p.m. local time.
Dohm said that the mechanical problem was related to “a pressurization issue.”
“The flight was cancelled. We’re making arrangements for customers to complete their journeys and assisting customers with overnight hotel accommodation as necessary,” Dohm said.
United has scheduled an additional flight for tomorrow at London Heathrow (August 21, 2013) at 11:30 a.m. as flight UA1753.
The United maintenance team is currently inspecting the aircraft, and the airline’s customer service team at London Heathrow is assisting customers with accommodations.
