SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — South Bay motorists are having a tough time Monday morning navigating traffic through several areas due to accidents and heavy congestion.

Highway 85 motorists faced major delays in South San Jose after a trailer transporting horses hit a guard rail near Cottle Road. The accident spilled debris onto the highway causing tire damage to a number of vehicles.

Friends of San Jose Firefighters posted a photo on its Facebook page of firefighters assisting a horse to safety.

“Upon their arrival firefighters quickly set about assessing the scene and assisting all in need, including the horses,” said Friends of San Jose Firefighters.
