ORINDA (KRON) — Two cars overturned on eastbound state Highway 24 in Orinda this afternoon, blocking lanes of the highway and backing up traffic through the Caldecott Tunnel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 1:37 p.m. on eastbound Highway 24 near the Camino Pablo off-ramp.
An ambulance was requested to respond to the scene but information about possible injuries in the crash was not immediately available, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
The two left lanes of eastbound Highway 24 could be closed until nearly 4 p.m. while crews clear the vehicles from the roadway, Bartlett said.
