AUBURN (KRON) — Three Bay Area people are in custody and a fourth remains on the loose for allegedly stealing $6,000 worth of baby formula.
Placer County Sheriff’s deputies say two men and two women, driving a rental car, tried to rip off a Bel Air store in Auburn.
Witnesses say all four entered the store and started filling up duffel bags with baby formula and other items.
When store employees tried to stop them, investigators say the four suspects started dumping other products into the aisles and attempted to run away.
The two women, 18-year old Charday Mariah Monique Brown from Hayward and 20-year old Torryiel Gayla Griggs from Oakland were found after deputies say they ran away from the rental car and taken into custody.
One of the men, 24-year old Damon Yon Marcus Nash was arrested a couple of hours later. The fourth suspect remains on the loose.
Investigtors say it appears these four people were responsible for a series of thefts ranging from Reno to the Bay Area.
