SANTA ROSA –Police Tuesday night arrested a suspect in the stabbing murder of a Humboldt County woman who was found dead in a driveway in 2012.
Jessy Zetino, 22, of Santa Rosa, ran from detectives when they closed in on him at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. David Linscomb said. He was arrested after a short chase in the area of Seventh and B streets in downtown Santa Rosa and booked in the Sonoma County jail on suspicion of murder.
DNA at the scene where 24-year-old Michela Wooldridge was found dead around 5:20 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2012, matched Zetino’s, Linscomb said.
Zetino frequented the area near the homicide scene and he had been at a party in that area on Halloween night in 2012, Linscomb said.
There is no evidence Zetino and Wooldridge had met prior to the murder, Linscomb said.
The murder was reported by passing joggers who found Woolridge’s body lying in a driveway of a business in the 1200 block of Fourth Street, Linscomb said.
She had injuries consistent with stab wounds to her torso.
Wooldridge had recently moved to Sonoma County from Humboldt County and possibly was homeless, Linscomb said.
Wooldridge was stabbed multiple times during the early morning hours, and there was no indication she was robbed or sexually assaulted,
Zetino is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Sonoma County Superior Court.
