HALF MOON BAY – A record was set today in the annual Half Moon Bay Annual Pumpkin weigh-off.
KRON 4′s Terisa Estacio reports that this year there were 55 entries into the big pumpkin competition. The winning entry weighed in at 1,985 pounds grown by Napa grower Gary Miller.
“I am so happy,” Miller said. “This is the coolest thing I have ever done.”
Miller wins a $11,910 cash prize, six dollars for each pound.
Organizers of the weigh-off tell Estacio that the winning pumpkin will be the star attraction in the upcoming Half Moon Bay Festival and be featured on a float in the parade.
