VALLEJO (KRON) — There are no reports of injuries after a limousine caught on fire Friday morning in Vallejo.

The fire broke out at 1600 Fairgrounds Drive. That’s just on the other side of Highway 37 from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

The driver says he was cleaning the vehicle out for a planned client on Saturday when the fire erupted. No passengers were on board at the time.

“I smelled oil and I raised the hood and all of a sudden the flames were coming out from the back of the engine,” the driver Jonathan Guevara says. “I tried my little fire extinguisher but it wouldn’t put it out.”

State and local officials say they have taken a keener interest in fires involving limos since five nurses died while trying to escape a burning limo on the San Mateo Bridge in April of 2013.
