VIDEO: 5-Alarm Fire Destroys One Home, Damages Another in San Jose

SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose firefighters have knocked down a five-alarm fire that destroyed a home and damaged a neighboring residence.

Officials say the fire started in one residence and then spread to the next. It was reported around 11:22 a.m. Wednesday on the 4328 block of Hampshire Place.

San Jose fire Capt. Cleo Doss said firefighters arrived at the scene to find one residence engulfed in flames and the fire threatening to spread to two other homes.

A second home sustained damage to about 50 percent of the structure, according to officials.

Fire crews remain on the scene to put out hot spots.

No injuries have been reported in the fire, according to the fire department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
