SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose Sharks veteran star player Patrick Marleau was involved in a serious car accident Tuesday afternoon in San Jose.

Marleau was not injured, a Sharks spokesman told KRON. The team announced on Twitter, “Forward Patrick Marleau is doing fine and was not injured after he was involved in a car accident in San Jose earlier today.”

Marleau, 34, of Saratoga, was traveling on W. Taylor Street when his Mercedes SUV collided with another vehicle.

The conditions of the others involved in the accident is unknown at this time.

Marleau has spent his entire professional hockey career with the Sharks since joining the team in 1997 as their 2nd overall pick in the National Hockey League draft. The three-time all star is the current Sharks’ all-time goals leader.
