A large demonstration and march is scheduled by supporters of the Lopez family. A sheriff’s deputy shot and killed the 13-year old Lopez who was carrying a replica assault weapon at the time.

County offices and Santa Rosa city hall will both be closed over the lunch hour during the scheduled march. The demonstration is set to begin with a rally at the Old COurthouse Square. From there marchers will proceed down Mendocino Avenue first to Santa Rosa Junior College and then on to the Sheriff’s department.

The shooting of Andy Lopez has drawn international attention. Organizers say they expect people from across the region to participate in the march.
