EL SOBRANTE (KRON) – Parents at an East Bay elementary school are on guard this week after a mysterious man walked onto the campus and lied about why he was there, reports KRON 4’s Charles Clifford.
On the afternoon of November 4th, a man walked into the main office at El Sobrante Christian School and said he was there to pick up a specific female student.
He asked for the girl by name, claimed to be her uncle and said that he was also waiting for her mother.
The man was issued a pass by school staff and he then wandered around the campus.
The never spoke with the girl or made contact with any other students, and after several minutes he left.
The girl’s mother, Janea Faulk told Clifford that she was “really scared” to find out the man was asking for her daughter.
Faulk has no idea who the man is and she wants the school to rethink its security policy. She is working with her daughter to teach her about safety around strangers.
The staff at the school held an information meeting for parents on Monday and are looking into putting security cameras and taller fences around the school.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case. They are implementing extra security around the school.
