OAKLAND (KRON) — Police have released the name of a 14-year-old boy who killed his 17-year-old sister over a laundry dispute on Thursday.
Police have identified the shooting suspect as Mario Toliver, 5’5 in height and weighing 140 pounds.
“We have a serious concern, because we have a 14-year-old, who we consider armed and dangerous,” said Officer Johnna Watson, a police spokeswoman. “We have not recovered a weapon from the scene so we believe he may still be in possession of that weapon, in this case, a handgun.”
The victim, Justice Toliver, was reportedly shot at around 12:17 p.m. inside an apartment located on the 800 block of Franklin Street.
Responding officers found the victim suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Toliver was pronounced dead on scene.
The siblings shared the apartment with their grandmother. It is unclear if anyone was with the teens at the time of the shooting.
“Just call,” the father said. “Please son, turn yourself in, or please call your daddy so we can turn yourself in. I love you and I don’t want nothing to happen to you.”
Toliver is survived by her 3-year-old daughter.
Police are searching for the brother, and say he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
