DALY CITY (KRON) — A Daly City Christian minister is due in court Wednesday for a first appearance on child molestation charges.
Ventje Cornelis Singkoh is in the San Mateo County Jail on $300,000 bond.
Authorities say Singkoh is the head minister of a San Francisco Indonesian church that held meetings at several locations including at Geary and 18th Avenue, at the Golden Gate Christian Church also on 18th Avenue, the First Presbyterian Church in Concord and at his Daly City home. Officials at Golden Gate Christian tell KRON 4 Singkoh’s group rented space there but was not a pastor at their church.
“He was using his residence for prayer services as part of the church community,” Daly City police detective Ron Harrison tells KRON 4′s Alecia Reid. “This incident took place during prayer services at his residence. People use their positions to do things like this and we find that throughout the community.”
Harrison says the investigation started with a report to San Bruno police earlier in the year. Sinkhoh is facing three felony charges of child molestation on a victim under the age of 14. Detectives say it’s possible there are other victims and want to talk with anyone who came in contact with the pastor.
