NAPA (KRON) — The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter of Sunday morning’s South Napa quake is located just south of the city of Napa but surprisingly damage is lighter in that area than just a few miles away.
KRON 4′s Dan Kerman visited the field where it appears the main part of the quake struck at 3:20 a.m. Sunday near the Marina area in southern Napa County.
Dan says he did see serious roadway damage near the intersections of Highway 121 and Highway 29 with pavement buckled on Cuttings Wharf Road.
Caltrans crews were already out late Sunday morning repaving some of the damaged roadway, the CHP confirms.
The CHP says there is also damage on Old Sonoma Road between Congress Valley Road and Buhman Road as well as Petrified Forest Road at Saxton Road.
