MELBOURNE — A koala in Langwarrin, a suburb of Melbourne Australia, was resuscitated after being hit by a car and passing out in a tree on Wednesday.
Officials say a passerby notified the state’s Country Fire Authority who then responded to the incident.
When they arrived they found the koala passed out in a tree and thought it had died.
After a daring rescue firefighters were able to release the koala from the tree and catch it in a blanket.
Life saving measures such as CPR and oxygen where administered and the koala was able to regain consciousness.
The koala, now named Sean, is recovering at the Thomas’ Wildlife Shelter in Frankston.
